Straight stairlifts - a simple and robust answer
This style of stairlift is fixed directly to the stair tread and operate on their own rails, which run from the bottom to the top stop. There's no point in having a convenient way of getting up the stairs if when you get there it's awkward to get moving again, so the footrest of our stairlifts will always stop in line with the top step. At this point you can swivel the chair and then it's as simple as standing up and walking away. If you're worried that you might struggle to swivel the chair, don't worry: we can provide powered seats which will do it for you.

When you're in a seat moving up the stairs it's natural to feel as if it isn't the safest thing in the world. But actually, our stairlifts are designed with safety in mind. Not only are they designed to be comfortable, they come with lap belts, remote controls and direct controls. This means that you'll be in control of the stairlift the entire time.
